Family photo sessions are definitely one of the greatest ways to spend time together, that is called quality time.
Bathed in the warm glow of the afternoon sun or close to the sunset golden hours, I am sure you will have a great time together in Munich’s parks.
Popular Parks in Munich for Family Photos:
- Englischer Garten: This huge park located in the centre of Munich offers a great green background. It also has charming Chinese pagodas. Perfect for families with children.
- Hofgarten: The manicured gardens and Renaissance architecture in this place add a small touch of elegance. It may be more suitable for a more formal family portrait.
- Westpark: This park features a beautiful lake, playgrounds, and a nice cafe where you can purchase meals. It is best for a family photo shoot with children.
- Nymphenburg Palace (Schloss Nymphenburg): If you choose Palace Park, please double-check the opening hours as the gates get closed at some moment. Opening hours of the main gate: January-March, November, December: 6 am-6 pm, April and October: 6 am-8 pm, May-September: 6 am-9.30 pm. The other park gates will be closed half an hour earlier.
What to wear on your family photo session:
Coordinate, don’t match: Choose colours that complement each other. Think neutrals like cream and white. You can always ask me if you need advice from me on what to wear.
Comfort is key: Especially for children, prioritize clothes that allow for movement and fun. Think flowy dresses for girls, comfortable chinos or jeans for boys, and breathable fabrics for everyone.
Consider the season: Dress according to the weather! You can always take off some layers, but a blue nose from being cold would be a problem.
