Tents and Oktoberfest spots I know well
- From the lively Hofbräu-Festzelt and Hacker-Pschorr’s “Heaven of Bavaria” to the cozy Augustiner, the Käfer VIP tent and the heritage Oide Wiesn, I know the best places and times for authentic photos. I also use landmarks like the Bavaria statue, the Ferris wheel and the fairground rides for scenic photo shots.
- I am happy to work at other venues and locations in Munich and Bavaria. Beyond Oktoberfest there is a lot to see (from Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and the Englischer Garten in the city center to Neuschwanstein Castle, Tegernsee, Eibsee and the Bavarian Alps). All these places make unforgettable destinations for photo and video sessions.
FAQs
Plan your Oktoberfest visit with dates, tents, how to get there, bag rules and the best photo spots at Theresienwiese. Learn when to take pictures and how to hire a local photographer.
When is Oktoberfest in 2025?
The 190th Oktoberfest will take place at Munich’s Theresienwiese from September 20 (Saturday) to October 5 (Sunday).
What should I wear?
At Oktoberfest, many people dress in traditional Bavarian outfits, called Tracht. Women often wear a Dirndl (a dress with blouse and apron), and men wear Lederhosen (leather trousers with a shirt). Simple accessories like hats or braids make the look even more festive. Wearing these outfits makes your photos more fun, colourful and a true part of the Oktoberfest spirit.
Please note that you are responsible for arranging your own outfit.
Do I need a special permission for a photosession?
Public areas are fine. Inside tents we will follow house rules and staff guidance.
What is the best time for Oktoberfest photos?
Weekdays and early hours are quieter with more space and softer light. Weekends and evenings are busier and very energetic. A mix of one calm slot and one peak atmosphere slot is ideal, as the two experiences feel completely different.
What can I bring to Oktoberfest?
Bags up to 3 litres or no bigger than 20 × 15 × 10 cm are allowed; no glass bottles. There is a luggage storage available. The quickest way to get around the Wiesn is to bring no bags or rucksacks.
What are the Oktoberfest tents in Munich?
Oktoberfest features 14 large tents, 21 small tents and 3 tents at the Oide Wiesn. Their descriptions can be found here.
Can you photograph our company’s reserved table or VIP event at Oktoberfest?
Yes, I cover corporate and VIP tables at Oktoberfest (including arrivals, group photos, speeches, client interactions and the festive atmosphere). You will receive a set of professional images that are press-ready and perfect for the company’s website, PR and social media.
